Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of MedSurg experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Skills in trachs, chest tubes, IV starts, wound care, dressing changes, wound vacs, drains, cardiac rhythm interpretation, central line blood draws. Experience with non-titrating drips (Heparin, Lasix, Protonix). Description: We are seeking a registered nurse in the MedSurg/Tele specialty. The unit consists of 20 total beds. There will be a focus on transitional care and general MedSurg patients. Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, kidney, liver, GI, respiratory issues, CIWA patients, infections, and wounds. This unit primarily treats medical patients but has the capacity to admit general surgery cases as needed. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5. To be considered, applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in MedSurg. First-time travelers are not accepted. Support on the unit includes 1 CNA per area and a charge RN who may take patients if necessary. Phlebotomy and respiratory therapy support are available 24/7. Clientists and residents are also present around the clock. Telemetry monitoring is provided through bedside monitors and a central station. The facility uses EPIC for electronic medical records, Alaris for IV pumps, and Omnicell for medication dispensing. Floating may occur within the scope of practice as needed. Scrub color is royal blue. We foster a collaborative and supportive unit culture.
