About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of MedSurg experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Skills in trachs, chest tubes, IV starts, wound care, dressing changes, wound vacs, drains, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and non-titrating drips Description: Registered Nurse - MedSurg/Tele position available. This unit features a total of 20 beds. The patient population mainly includes transitional care patients and general MedSurg cases. Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, kidney/liver/GI/respiratory issues, CIWA patients, infections, and wounds. Most patients are medical, but there may be some general surgeries and other patients based on service line admissions. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5. The role requires proficiency in performing central line blood draws and administering non-titrating drips. Support within the department includes Certified Nursing Assistants and charge nurses. Phlebotomy services are available 24/7. Nurses have access to telemetry monitoring with bedside and central station monitors. Technology used includes EPIC for electronic medical records and other specialized medical equipment. Floating may occur within the scope of practice in the facility. Scrub color is royal blue. The unit culture is collaborative and supportive.
