About the Position

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments, incorporating the nursing process, critical thinking, and consideration of patient culture, age, and developmental level
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in coordination with patients, families, and the inter-professional team, including identifying and prioritizing patient needs and risk factors
• Administer patient care therapies and procedures within scope of practice, recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition in a timely and appropriate manner
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including execution of discharge orders and coordination with case management
• Provide patient and family-centered education, addressing educational needs based on level of comprehension and prioritized problems
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities, including monitoring of patient satisfaction, falls, pressure ulcers, CAUTIs, and documentation audits

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all members of the care team
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures

• Previous nursing experience in an ICU or similar acute care setting
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Familiarity with evidence-based practice and current nursing research
