Network Field Engineer

Job Description Only Local Candidates Will be considered ( Less than 50 miles) Schedule: 40 hours per week (8-hour shifts) Duration: 13 weeks, with potential for permanent hire Estimated Annual Salary Upon Conversion: Approximately $93,000 Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Network Field Engineer to support enterprise networking environments by installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Cisco-based network infrastructure. This role requires travel between client sites and hands‑on experience with LAN/WAN technologies, routing protocols, network devices, and infrastructure support. The ideal candidate has strong technical troubleshooting skills, experience with Cisco networking equipment, and a customer‑focused approach to resolving complex networking issues. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain Cisco routers, switches, and network devices. Troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity and network performance issues. Configure switch ports and perform network port activations. Upgrade and maintain switch firmware. Support routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP. Monitor enterprise network operations and respond to incidents. Perform break/fix support and participate in an on‑call rotation. Collaborate with infrastructure teams to identify and resolve network issues. Create and maintain network documentation using Visio. Follow networking security best practices and organizational standards. Deliver excellent customer service while supporting multiple client locations. Required Qualifications 2–4 years of hands‑on networking experience. Experience installing and configuring Cisco networking equipment. Strong understanding of: LAN/WAN networking

TCP/IP

Routing and switching Firewalls Cisco IOS Experience with routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP. Ability to analyze network issues and implement effective solutions. Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Reliable transportation for travel between client sites. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred). CCNA certification or actively pursuing CCNA certification. Experience with ServiceNow. Experience supporting Avaya systems. Experience creating technical documentation using Microsoft Visio. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance is a plus.
