PR/Social Media Assistant

Role Description: Argentum Partners is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive PR/Social Media Assistant (contract) to provide day-to-day support across public relations, social media and integrated marketing accounts.

This part-time position will work with clients across travel and tourism, food and beverage, healthcare and other industries. The assistant will assist with research, media relations, social media content, reporting, writing and general account support while gaining hands-on experience in an agency environment.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who is eager to learn, comfortable managing multiple assignments and willing to jump in wherever support is needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Research industry trends, audience insights, competitors and potential marketing or partnership opportunities for agency clients.
• Schedule and publish approved content across client social media platforms using designated scheduling tools.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of social media calendars, ensuring content is accurate, timely and aligned with broader campaigns and client priorities.
• Build and maintain media lists.
• Support the execution of integrated marketing campaigns, promotions, brand activations and special events.
• Monitor social media, client news and industry developments to identify timely content, promotional and partnership opportunities.
• Organize client assets, project files and campaign information.
• Support content development and coordination for websites, email campaigns, social media and other marketing channels as needed.
• Provide day-to-day administrative and project support to the PR/Social team.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and writing skills, including clear, professional, and audience-appropriate messaging.
• Experience with social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram) and social media content creation.
• Knowledge of social media marketing practices, including scheduling, analytics, and engagement strategies.
• Ability to collaborate with a team, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and basic proficiency in office and project management tools.
• Familiarity with softwares including Sprout Social, CapCut, Meltwater, etc a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
