Job Overview
JWC Steel Co., a Hartford-based fabricator specializing in structural steel and miscellaneous metals, is seeking a Tekla Detailer to join our Design & Technical Department. This full-time, onsite position is ideal for a self-motivated, independent, and goal-oriented professional with experience using Tekla Structures software. You'll play a critical role in developing precise 3D models that drive the success of our fabrication and installation projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop accurate and detailed 3D models using Tekla Structures software
- Generate shop drawings and blueprints for fabrication and field use
- Ensure all models comply with project specifications, standards, and timelines
- Identify and resolve design discrepancies or challenges during the detailing process
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to ensure seamless execution
- Maintain version control and documentation for all modeling projects
- Review architectural and structural drawings to confirm dimensions and design intent
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in detailing or modeling, preferably with steel or miscellaneous metals
- Proficient in Tekla Structures software (required)
- Strong understanding of mechanical and structural design principles
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, technical drawings, and schematics
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills and a team-focused mindset
- No specific degree or certifications required — proven skill and reliability matter most
