The Beach House Maui is the newest restaurant from Handcrafted Restaurants, the award-winning Hawaiʻi restaurant group behind Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman, Moku Kitchen, Ulu Kitchen by Merriman, and The Beach House Restaurant Kauaʻi. Nestled along the iconic shores of Keawakapu Beach, we’re creating a vibrant gathering place where exceptional food, handcrafted beverages, genuine hospitality, and the spirit of aloha come together. At The Beach House Maui, we believe every guest should leave feeling more connected to our food, our people, our island, and each other. We’re searching for a Sous Chef who shares that vision and is passionate about building an exceptional culinary culture from day one. Opening Fall 2026 We’re currently recruiting a Sous Chef to help lead our culinary team in preparation for our anticipated Fall 2026 opening. Interviews will begin now, with onboarding and training taking place closer to our opening. This is a unique opportunity to help shape our kitchen culture, develop future culinarians, and establish the standards that will define The Beach House Maui for years to come. About the Role Working alongside the Executive Chef and restaurant leadership team, you’ll help lead a talented culinary team while creating an environment built on respect, teamwork, accountability, craftsmanship, and continuous learning. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys coaching others, leading by example, and taking pride in developing both people and exceptional food. We’re looking for a leader who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves, support the team during busy shifts, and lead through action rather than position. We’re Looking For A leader who Has previous kitchen leadership experience as a Sous Chef or similar supervisory role Leads with humility, integrity, and professionalism Inspires, coaches, and develops others Thrives in a collaborative, team-first environment Values consistency, organization, cleanliness, and craftsmanship Communicates effectively with both the culinary and hospitality teams Shares a genuine passion for hospitality, the island of Maui, and the spirit of aloha Open availability including weekends & holidays and flexibility to work Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner shifts Experience in high-volume, chef-driven restaurants is preferred.
