Senior Search Data & Systems Engineer

Salary: $102,000 - 182,710 per year Requirements:

• We need 7+ years of experience in software engineering, applied analytics, search systems, or technical marketing roles where complex systems were designed and owned end to end.
• We need experience working with data engineering or analytics engineering teams to define transformation logic, data models, instrumentation needs, and reporting outputs.
• We need a strong grasp of marketing and analytics data architecture, including event-level data, custom dimensions, warehouse modeling, and reporting-layer design.
• We need experience with APIs, structured datasets, and large-scale analytical environments such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or comparable cloud data platforms.
• We need strong proficiency in Python, SQL, or similar languages, with a focus on building durable systems rather than one-off analyses or prototypes.
• We need experience designing analytical or decision systems downstream of a data warehouse, including business logic, evaluation frameworks, and failure modes.
• We need deep familiarity with search, discovery, or ranking systems, whether traditional or AI-driven, and the ability to reason about probabilistic outputs, model variance, and imperfect signals.
• We need hands-on experience evaluating, prototyping, or operationalizing AI-driven workflows, LLM-based systems, or agent-like architectures, with a pragmatic approach to risk and complexity.
• We need the ability to connect technical implementation with business strategy by translating analytical needs into scalable data and system requirements.
• We need experience operating in ambiguous problem spaces where requirements were incomplete, tooling was immature, and judgment mattered more than predefined best practices.
• We need a proven ability to influence cross-functional partners by clearly explaining technical tradeoffs and pushing back when solutions are premature, fragile, or misaligned.
• We need a track record of documenting systems, assumptions, and decisions to support long-term maintainability and team learning.
• We need comfort being the first or only person in the role and helping define what good looks like before metrics or playbooks exist.

• We define the data, instrumentation, and custom dimensions needed to support SEO, AI visibility, content performance, and entity-level analysis across our marketing ecosystem.
• We partner with SQL developers, analytics engineers, and BI teams to operationalize scalable datasets, transformation logic, reporting tables, and analytical data models that support reporting, automation, and decision systems.
• We shape ingestion and normalization approaches for search, behavioral, content, and AI visibility data across APIs, warehouses, and marketing platforms.
• We ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across SEO and AI visibility reporting systems by validating metric definitions, transformation logic, and analytical outputs.
• We translate ambiguous business questions and SEO hypotheses into structured technical requirements that can be implemented across reporting pipelines, analytical systems, and automation workflows.
• We define analytical frameworks and scoring logic for evaluating brand visibility, entity coverage, content performance, and competitive presence across traditional and AI-driven search environments.
• We develop monitoring and alerting systems that surface meaningful shifts in search visibility, AI model behavior, response patterns, or competitor movement over time.
• We build and maintain automation, prioritization models, and agent-like systems that convert curated datasets into actionable recommendations for SEO, content, and discovery optimization.
• We translate marketing strategies and initiatives into scalable technical implementations, including rule-based systems, experimentation frameworks, and applied AI workflows.
• We prototype and assess emerging tools, APIs, and frameworks related to LLM analysis, AI agents, search intelligence, and marketing automation.
• We partner with search, content, analytics, engineering, and platform teams to embed search intelligence systems and AI-driven insights into planning, prioritization, experimentation, and execution workflows.
• We document system logic, assumptions, frameworks, and operating processes to support long-term scalability, maintainability, and organizational clarity.
