Cardiovascular Specialist - Electrophysiology Lab, Days, Baptist Hospital

The Cardiovascular SpecialistIis responsible for performing all required procedures in the cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology laboratory, operating specialized equipment including x‑ray, EP pacing systems, hemodynamic monitoring, and other specialized equipment. Responsibilities Accept patients and assess their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements. Explain and prepare the patient for all invasive procedures. Interview patients and review available clinical data from charts to alert nurses and/or physicians to possible contraindications for the procedure. Perform all responsibilities/duties required by the cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology laboratory division as defined in the scope of service, ensuring the unique nature of the client is addressed. Train staff technologists in special procedures. Operate highly complex radiographic equipment within the cardiac catheterization department, selecting technical factors to ensure high‑quality radiographs using the ALARA standards. Perform all related exams within the cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology laboratory. Perform various clerical duties. Check stock inventory and initiate orders. Train other staff technologists and students as needed. Assist in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization. May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters. Qualifications Minimum Education Technical Diploma/Certificate Allied Health – Required Associate’s Degree Allied Health – Required Bachelor’s Degree Allied Health – Required Completed 300 hours of a clinical rotation from an allied health services program – Required Licenses and Certifications BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) – American Heart Association – Upon Hire Required ACLS Provider (ACLS) – American Heart Association – Upon Hire Required National Institutes Of Health Stroke Scale (NIH) – Within 90 Days Required Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS_CCI) – Within 18 Months Required Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES_CCI) – Within 18 Months Required Registered Technologist (ARRT) – ARRT CV or ARRT VI – Within 18 Months Required Certified Radiology Technologist – Licensed State of Florida, if applicable – Upon Hire Required State of Florida clinical license, if applicable to education – Upon Hire Required Required Skills, Knowledge And Abilities Specialized training in cardiovascular procedures.
