At Young, YOU are at the core of what we do.Position Overview:As a CNC Machinist, you will set up, operate, and maintain CNC equipment to ensure accurate and efficient production according to technical specifications. Operators interpret blueprints, determine the required machine settings, and select appropriate cutting speeds, depths, feeds, and tooling for each operation. Decisions are guided by experience, knowledge of materials, and fundamental mathematical principles. Full medical, dental, vision, 401k, parental leave, paid holidays, paid time off, and more!Ability to autonomously run existing equipment and learn new automated machineryWhat You’ll Do:Machine Operation and Technical SkillsOperate, set up, and maintain multiple complex machinesDeburr parts (manual and rotary buff)Operate part cleaning/polishing equipmentOperate optical comparator, EDM, Calipers, micrometers, and other toolsPosition and secure tools in holders; verify positions using gauges and measuring instrumentsReplace worn tools as neededMay set up machines for other employeesQuality Control and DocumentationRead and interpret engineering drawings and blueprintsRun parts according to engineering specificationsInspect first-run and sample workpieces to ensure conformance to specificationsUse measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, plug gauges, and ring gaugesComplete required in-process inspection reportsAccurately record production and inspection dataSafety and MaintenancePerform approved preventive maintenance on machinery and work centersIdentify and support continuous improvement initiatives in production processesFollow all written and verbal instructions and guidelinesCommunicate and work effectively with team members to meet production goals and quotasDemonstrate a positive and professional attitudeObserve all safety guidelines and report concerns to management.Maintain a clean, organized work area and equipmentWhat You’ll Bring:High school diploma or G.E.D and one or more years’ related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to read, analyze, and interpret, proof, type and handle all common clerical functionsAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measureAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization existsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule formTechnical Skills:Experience with Swiss machines/programming preferredExperience with Mitsubishi, Haas, and Fanuc controllers preferredPhysical Requirements/Working Locations –Manufacturing/Distribution EnvironmentThis position operates in a manufacturing plant environment. The role routinely involves working around machinery, equipment, and moving mechanical parts. The facility may be subject to varying temperatures, loud noise levels, and airborne particles such as dust or chemical fumes, depending on the area of the plant. This role may require periods of standing, sitting, or walking throughout the workday. Occasional bending, lifting, or carrying items up to 50 pounds may be necessary.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, control, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk. Hearing abilities required for this environment include being able to clearly hear and respond to audible alarms, production equipment, forklifts, and other machinery to maintain a safe work environment.
