Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Rush Counseling Center, your daily activities will involve:

• Conducting thorough evaluations to assess the severity and frequency of clients' mood disorder symptoms.

• Developing tailored treatment plans in partnership with clients, ensuring their individual goals and preferences are central to their care.

• Implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to address mood disorders effectively.

• Providing psychoeducation to clients and their families regarding mood disorders and available treatment options, fostering insight and encouraging participation in their recovery process.

• Regularly monitoring client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on individual responses to therapy.
\n
• Collaborating with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive and integrated care to clients.
\n
• Staying informed about the latest research and advancements in the treatment of mood disorders to enhance therapeutic practices.

• Maintaining detailed and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards to ensure transparency and accountability.

• Participating in case consultations and team meetings to share insights and enhance service delivery across the clinic.

• Advocating for clients’ mental health needs within the community, while promoting awareness and reducing stigma associated with mental health issues.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily focus on individuals experiencing mood disorders, such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder, including at-risk populations like the homeless, refugees, and victims of domestic abuse. You will provide therapy that not only addresses symptoms but also helps clients build coping strategies and improve their overall quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• Possess a current and valid state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

• Hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.

• Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and a nonjudgmental approach to supporting clients through their personal struggles.
