Medical AssistantDevereux Arizona's Residential Treatment Center (RTC) provides intensive, 24-hour support for youth aged 7 to 17, who are experiencing serious emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. In a structured, therapeutic environment, we combine clinical expertise with compassionate, trauma-informed care to help youth heal, grow and build a brighter future. The RTC features dormitories, an accredited K-12 school, food services, 24/7 on-site nursing, and specialized therapy and clinical services.Medical Assistants provide direct, hands-on medical assistance to practitioners treating patients in a residential treatment setting serving children and adolescents. Medical Assistant job duties include:Assisting with day-to-day health services operations, coordination of medical appointments, medication administration support, health record documentation, and communication between nursing staff, providers, and families as appropriateAssisting with routine clinical procedures, monitoring and documenting health-related information, facilitating medication management processes, maintaining medical supplies and equipment, and ensuring timely completion of required health documentationCoordinating, transporting, and accompanying individuals to off-site medical, dental, psychiatric, and specialty appointments, ensuring appropriate supervision, continuity of care, and timely communication of provider recommendations, treatment plans, and follow-up needs to the nursing and treatment teamsAssisting with infection prevention activities, health screenings, and adherence to organizational policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory requirementsProviding administrative and clinical assistance to ensure efficient healthcare operations and support the overall health and well-being of individuals receiving residential treatment services, and other job duties as assignedAdditional Details:Pay Range: $18/hr - $19.80/hrFull Time Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am-5pm, with other hours as needed (schedules are subject to change)Work Location: 6436 E Sweetwater Ave., Scottsdale, Arizona 85254QualificationsMust be 21 years of age or olderHigh School diploma or GED requiredMedical Assistant Certificate from a United States accredited educational institutionCompletion of a Medical Assistant ExternshipExperience working with individuals in behavioral health preferredBasic knowledge of medical terminology; excellent oral and written communication skillsCustomer service experience required; ability to work in a fast paced office and prioritize multiple duties.Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn other software programsBenefits and RewardsPaid time off (24 days per year, increase with years of service); Sick time (64 hours per year)ASCEND, career accelerator program and tuition assistanceRetirement, eM Life for Mental Health and Work/Life Programs, Service Anniversary AwardsFree access to Payactiv, a platform to get a portion of your earned wages between pay periodsQuality Low-Cost Benefits (medical, dental, vision, pet insurance): 30-day benefit eligibility waiting period for new hires!Devereux has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and maintains policies and procedures to systematically reduce the risk of abuse to occur in our organization.
