Job Summary:
The labor and delivery department nurse position is based in a short-term acute care facility. The role involves providing specialized maternal and neonatal care, with flexibility to float between units such as labor, mother-baby, and antepartum, supporting high-risk deliveries and postpartum care. The position requires working night shifts and participating in on-call rotations, with scheduled shifts starting at either 3 a.m. and 3 p.m., or 11 a.m. and 11 p.m., on 12-hour schedules.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid state license; at least 1 year of labor and delivery nursing experience; certifications include AWHONN Intermediate*, BLS, NR P.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-risk obstetrics, ability to float to postpartum and antepartum units, proficiency with electronic fetal monitoring system, and familiarity with trauma level II environment.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to support operational needs, including units such as labor, antepartum, postpartum, and maternal/neonatal care.
• Additional Information: Candidates must have a vehicle for the assignment and be willing to work scheduled holidays. Flexibility in shift start times is expected, with adequate notice provided for shift changes. The assignment involves daily care for women of childbearing age and newborns, with a patient census of 8 visits per day and a total of 43 beds available.
