If you are interested in joining our team, we are currently seeking a Journeyman Auto Mechanic in Toledo, OR. The Journeyman Auto Mechanic position starts out with a pay of $41.69. This position is primarily day shift, but will need to be available to work a 12 hour rotation in future. You will be required to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed. You will be required to provide your own metric and standard tools.Our TeamGeorgia-Pacific Containerboard in Toledo, OR facility is a containerboard mill that was built in 1957 as the company's first pulp and paper mill. The facility has approximately 400 employees and manufactures both linerboard and corrugated medium on three paper machines, using both virgin and recycled fiber. To learn more about our Packaging Division, visit You Will DoPerform preventative maintenance and routine repairsOverhaul, rebuild, maintain, inspect, diagnose, and repair one or more systems on a wide range of vehicles or equipment. This could include diesel, gasoline, and other types of internal combustion engines; automatic and non-automated transmissions; heavy duty drive line systems; and/or hydraulic utility systems and controlsWork with vendors to price parts, request repair quotes and place ordersUse hand tools, power tools, precision-measuring devices, and testing instrumentation to repair and troubleshoot equipmentAdhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and proceduresWork any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as neededWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)Minimum of five (5) years of experience with troubleshooting, adjusting and repairing heavy equipment in a manufacturing and/or automotive environmentMinimum of five (5) years of experience in preventative and corrective maintenance of large heavy equipment to include front end loaders, man lifts, skid steers, extended boom lifts, forklifts, cranes, and small engines OR 5 years experience as B level auto mechanicExperience using a computer to perform the following tasks: email, data entry, and document creationExperience performing minor welding repairsExperience reading electrical & hydraulic schematics/mechanical drawingsWhat Will Put You AheadAssociates Degree in Automotive Technology, Diesel/Heavy Equipment Technology, or another mechanical fieldAssist in the work of other trades, such as but not limited to: millwrighting, pipefitting, machining, etc.
