Job Summary Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Full‑time at Morristown Medical Center inpatient Rehab Unit, Atlantic Health System. Key Responsibilities Assist patients with manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, and modality treatments (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, ultraviolet, infrared, hot & cold packs). Instruction, motivation and assistance for functional activities including ambulation, transfer and activities of daily living. Observe treatment sessions, monitor progress, compile data, and communicate results to the supervising Physical Therapist. Fit patients for orthopedic braces, prostheses and assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) and train patients in their use. Coordinate patient information with physical therapy staff and other health team members for treatment planning. Facilitate orientation and training of new PTA staff and Physical Therapy Aides. Perform clerical duties such as inventory, ordering supplies, answering phone, taking messages and completing forms. Measure range‑of‑motion, body part length/girth and vital signs to support treatment evaluation. Monitor treatments performed by Physical Therapy Aides and perform other related duties as assigned. Principal Accountabilities Administer physical therapy care programs for patients with injury or disease. Document patient progress, modify treatment plans as directed by the managing PT. Promote quality improvement, problem‑solving and productivity enhancement within a flexible interdisciplinary team. Qualifications Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy Assistant. BLS certification.
