Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse who is comfortable working in a combined LDRP setting. The role includes alternating between Labor, Triage, and Postpartum care, making it essential for staff to rotate through all functions efficiently.

Responsibilities

Provide care and support for mothers during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period.
Manage care for 3-4 couplets in the postpartum unit and 1-2 patients in labor.
Utilize Epic electronic health records for documentation and tracking patient information.
Deliver training and education to new mothers regarding postpartum care and infant care.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in Labor & Delivery or related settings.
Ability to perform multiple roles including Labor, Triage, and Postpartum care.
Experience with OB surgical recovery, particularly in C-section care, is highly preferred.
Current certifications in NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses), and FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring) required.
Familiarity with Epic electronic health record system is mandatory.

Work Schedule

The position operates on a rotating schedule, requiring staff to take on-call hours based on staffing needs, typically amounting to 16-20 hours within a 6-week schedule. Additional opportunities for picking up extra weekend and weekday shifts are available for those interested.
