Community Engagement & Events Manager

SUMMARY

The Community Engagement & Events Manager leads community-driven fundraising and engagement initiatives that inspire philanthropy and mobilize support for the Thurston County Food Bank's mission. By building meaningful relationships with businesses, service clubs, community organizations, and local leaders, this role expands financial resources, increases community awareness, and fosters partnerships that help ensure everyone has access to nutritious food. KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities) Develop, cultivate, and steward relationships with local businesses, corporate partners, civic organizations, and community leaders to advance the organization’s mission and strengthen community investment. Coordinate annual giving campaigns, donor communications, sponsorship activities, and fundraising initiatives in partnership with the Development Director. Coordinate organizational fundraising events, including the annual breakfast and other signature events, by managing timelines, logistics, planning meetings, vendors, volunteers, and event committees. Coordinate event budgets and expenses to ensure responsible stewardship of resources and successful event outcomes. Collaborate with development, communications, and program staff to deliver consistent donor engagement, community messaging, and event experiences. Maintain accurate donor, sponsor, and event records within the CRM system and prepare reports that measure fundraising, sponsorship, and engagement performance. Ensure fundraising activities, partnerships, and events reflect TCFB’s mission, values, and commitment to community-centered service. Support achievement of annual fundraising, sponsorship, and community engagement goals through relationship-building, stewardship, and coordinated outreach.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Three to five years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, business development, sales, community engagement, or a related field. Demonstrated success securing charitable gifts, sponsorships, or partnership revenue. Experience planning and coordinating fundraising or community events. Strong relationship-building, networking, public speaking, and written communication skills. Experience using CRM or donor management systems. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working in a nonprofit organization, particularly in fundraising, development, or community engagement. Experience recruiting and coordinating volunteers or volunteer committees. Knowledge of donor cultivation, stewardship, and annual giving strategies. Familiarity with the Thurston County business and nonprofit community or the demonstrated ability to quickly build community relationships.

SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE INCLUDES

Achieving annual fundraising, sponsorship, and community engagement goals. Building and sustaining meaningful partnerships with businesses, community organizations, donors, volunteers, and sponsors. Successfully coordinating fundraising events that meet participation, revenue, stewardship, and budget expectations. Expanding community awareness of and engagement with the Thurston County Food Bank. Collaborating effectively across departments and with community partners to advance the organization's mission. COMPUTER/TECHNOLOGY SKILLS/EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE SKILLS Experience using CRM or donor management systems. Demonstrates strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Computer literacy including the use of word processing, database, and spreadsheet software.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly sit. Regularly use hands to finger, grip, handle, or feel. Regularly walk, stand, and drive a car to sites and meetings. Occasionally reach above your head with hands and arms. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Team lift or equipment should be used over 25 pounds.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Status: Full Time (40 hours per week) Salary: Full Range from Service Years $39.00-$53.99 ($81,120 - $112,299.20) with a starting range of $39.00 ($81,120) to $42.62 ($88,649.60) Benefits package includes PTO, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, Employee Assistance Program, and a SIMPLE IRA 3% match after one year in a benefit-eligible position. #J-18808-Ljbffr Tcfb
