Director, Process Analysis & Improvement

This position is responsible for assisting the ACMO in the day-to-day functions associated with the activities in the Maintenance, Support & Engineering Division. Duties include, but are not limited to: yearly production schedules, general overhaul programs, units' production and repair fabrication and major accident repairs, review and implementation of new processes and tooling, enhancement of current processes/methods, monitoring production vs operational needs, maintaining safe work practices, collaborating with Technical Services, Material Control and Budget in order to reevaluate the material/unit priorities and adjust production accordingly and ensure production meets OEM and/or Technical Services standards. The incumbent may also be responsible for bus fleet monitoring, engine failure analysis, deploy bus fleet campaigns, assist the depots with fleet defects, and manage bus technology programs.

Education and Experience:

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in Transportation Management, Engineering, or in a related area, and ten (10) years of full-time related professional experience, and at least four (4) years of which must have been in a supervisory/managerial capacity.
2. A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of Powertrain, HVAC, and Chemical engineering related analysis/projects.
• Knowledge of Aftertreatment Systems: Maintenance planning, component support, and cleaning specifications.
• Diverse technical knowledge of bus systems and maintenance practices. Ability to analyze maintenance problems objectively.
• Thorough knowledge of preventive maintenance principles and applications.
• Knowledge of NYCT's policies and procedures, contracts, rules, regulations, and vehicle specifications.
• Knowledge of the maintenance, repair, design, testing and evaluating of vehicles, their sub system components and the support equipment necessary for efficient fleet maintenance.
• Knowledge of production line and component quality standards established by industry practices and the Authority.
• Knowledge of Federal regulations, Warranty administration, Buses Procurement policies and Directives.
• Knowledge of depot operations, auditing and budgeting.
• Experience in monitoring and controlling inspections and surveys.
• Experience in managing a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience working in diverse settings with multiple agencies both within and outside of the MTA.
• Experience in developing short- and long-term plans and tracking their attainment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
