We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to work on-site with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD providing support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). Duties Include: Recruits and screens patients for inclusion in protocols and clinical trials. Facilitate screening patients for the projects that focus on adolescents with major depressive disorder. Screen for studies on Major Depression. Respond to parents and teens who contact NIMH expressing interest in research participation; explain the nature of the research studies; provide guidance on how to complete preliminary screening using secure, on-line methods or hardcopy responses to screening questions; provide log-in passwords and review files to ascertain that questionnaires have been completed. Participate in direct patient care, in coordination with interdisciplinary team and specific team members to create and communicate a plan of care that balances clinical care needs with research. Complete medical and psychiatric assessments of potential participants in multiple research protocols by collecting and reviewing past and present medical records and conduct interviews with research applicants and their families. Contribute to all study related IRB and regulatory matters, including all reporting requirements (including deviations, unanticipated problems, adverse events) and report issues and variance promptly to the research team. Prepare documentation and track and report regulatory and institutional protocol requirements and resolve all stipulations from protocol oversight groups. Support the general implementation, tracking, data acquisition, collection and reporting of all elements of the protocols. Examine and monitor patients during protocol studies; ensure the collection of a complete clinical database on each patient. Mentor health care members in the execution of trials and resolution of logistical constraints and update team members of changing directions in study implementation Schedule: Full-Time Days, Monday-Friday Requirements Unrestricted and Active RN license Minimum 3 years of psychiatric research experience Experience in clinical research setting with protocols and clinical trials Experience providing clinical services in a medical setting If you meet the qualifications and are ready to contribute to groundbreaking research, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
