Step Down Unit Nurse Location: Not Specified. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in an intermediate care setting, supporting patients with conditions such as stroke, cardiac issues, and sepsis. The position offers 12-hour day shifts within a comprehensive healthcare environment.

Job Details

• Position Description: Provides intermediate care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4, focusing on patients requiring titration of drips such as Heparin, Nitro, and Cardizem, and management of ventilator equipment like Cpap and Bipap.
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications, NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification, minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, and proficiency with patient care techniques including trach cares and IV titration.
• Schedule: Days, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week, starting from 10/26/2026 to 01/25/2027.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with stroke, cardiac, and surgical care skills, and familiarity with EPIC charting.
• Additional Information: The unit emphasizes a collaborative environment with a shared responsibility model, utilizing CNA support with a typical workload of 8-23 patients, and ensuring coverage of high-flow oxygen and ventilator troubleshooting.
