Robotics Engineer

Cantrell - Gainco, 2579 Monroe Drive, Gainesville, GA 30507, USA Description Candidates must have the following to qualify Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field from an ABET accredited institution. Experience developing robotic systems from the ground up and creating robot programs from start to finish. 3+ years of hands‑on experience programming and commissioning 6‑axis industrial robots in a production environment (FANUC strongly preferred). Proficiency in FANUC robot programming (TP, iPendant) and experience with ROBOGUIDE or equivalent 3D simulation suite. Experience integrating robots with PLC‑based control systems, safety circuits, and industrial networks. Willingness to develop and contribute beyond core expertise in areas applicable to automation and robotics projects. Willingness to travel to customer sites for installation, commissioning, and support as needed. Must be able to convey and demonstrate the following skills & competencies Demonstrates deep technical expertise and the confidence to engage customers as a peer. Able to constructively challenge assumptions, offer alternative solutions, and contribute meaningfully to technical decisions while maintaining professionalism, respect, and a collaborative tone. Strong problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis skills for complex electromechanical systems. Clear, structured communication—able to work closely with mechanical, electrical, controls, and software teams as well as customers and operators. English language proficiency in oral and written communication. Self‑directed, comfortable in plant environments and under startup deadlines; strong sense of ownership for cell performance and uptime. Up to 50% travel is required for approximately the first 6 to 9 months. Up to 25% travel after this period.
