Key Responsibilities

• Performing thorough patient assessments, initiating diagnostic exams, and developing tailor-made care strategies
• Diagnosing and managing acute, chronic, or episodic health conditions in conjunction with physicians or independently based on credentialing
• Providing education to patients and their families about health maintenance, wellness, and chronic disease management
• Prescribing medications and other treatments in line with your professional training

Education Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Essential Certifications

• Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in Alaska
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or the ability to secure within 90 days)
