Registered Nurse - Med Surg Geriatrics

Schedule

This position requires a 3x11.5 shift, working 7 AM to 7 PM. Weekend and holiday shifts are mandatory.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will develop and implement patient care plans by interviewing patients and their families, reviewing health records, and ensuring care reflects the needs of each patient. The RN will administer medications, initiate emergency measures, provide patient education, document care and evaluations, and oversee support staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop individualized care plans and discharge plans based on patient needs.
• Administer prescribed medications and therapy, including IV therapy.
• Teach preventative and rehabilitative care to patients and families.
• Record observations and interventions in the patient health record.
• Evaluate and update patient care plans based on progress.
• Provide oversight to support staff and ensure quality patient care.
• Maintain a safe and organized environment within the unit.
• Demonstrate leadership and adhere to professional and ethical nursing standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN License.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
• Experience with EPIC is a must.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
