PRN Speech Language Pathologist

About this Job MedStar Health is looking for a Speech‑Language Pathologist to join our team at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital. The Speech‑Language Pathologist provides speech‑language pathology services, including screening and evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re‑assessment, patient/client reevaluation, discharge planning, and documentation in a variety of settings. The professional participates in program planning and protocol development and assists the team in meeting established goals. Primary Duties Provides evaluation services that include review of pertinent historical information, performance of specific assessments, determination of recommendations, and documentation of results. Explains evaluation findings and treatment plan to the patient and family and incorporates them into goal setting. Demonstrates proficiency in implementation of treatment protocols based on evaluation findings and the patient’s presentation. Consults with other healthcare professionals as indicated. Recognizes and documents changes in the patient’s condition requiring modification of the plan of care or a medical/rehabilitation consultation. Completes appropriate discharge planning and follow‑up care. Accurately and timely documents and charges for patient care activities, providing a clear picture of the patient’s course of care through initial evaluation, daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluation. Demonstrates effective time management and meets productivity expectations, managing an accurate schedule. Provides frictionless patient access to care with flexibility, adaptability, empathy, and a patient‑consumer‑driven approach. Takes initiative in pursuing and directing continuing education for professional growth and competency. Serves as a clinical instructor, assigning students and assisting with orientation and mentoring of new staff, students, and volunteers. Qualifications Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited program. 1–2 years of experience in a medical setting. Licensed Speech‑Language Pathologist in Maryland, District of Columbia, and/or Virginia (as required for the specific location). American Speech‑Language Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence. This position has a hiring range of USD $60,000 per year. #J-18808-Ljbffr
