HVAC Sales Account Manager

The Sales Account Manager masters the scope of work we are bidding, perfects our front-end estimation accuracy, and provides precise proposals with clear exclusions to drive strong margins on the sales volume. The Sales Account Managers serve in different capacities across the area of new construction, tenant improvement, HVACR equipment replacement and energy efficiency upgrades to include direct digital controls (DDC) installation / upgrades. This role nurtures the relationship with existing and new accounts by retaining our client base and expanding business by identifying additional clientele.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Maintain and sustain current customer relationships while also acquiring new customers and building customer base.
• Act as the point of contact for current and new accounts.
• Conduct site visits and verify existing conditions prior to generating estimates.
• Generate accurate estimates and professional proposals utilizing Timberline-Sage estimation software and HD proposal forms.
• Able to select appropriate HVACR and control equipment.
• Work collaboratively to resolve difficult business, construction, service, and maintenance issues with assigned customers (i.e. scope of work, contractual, personnel, schedule issues and liability and lawsuits).
• Develop an ongoing understanding of all aspects of our operations including Preventative Maintenance contracts, warranty issues, emergency service, vendors, material control, sheet metal fabrication, and business interface.
• Delegate tasks (such as assistance with load calculations or estimating) to HD estimators and engineers/designers.
• Respond to bid requests and provide proposals in a timely manner to meet customer deadlines.
• Advocate for HD team members’ and Company’s abilities. Responsible for directly addressing difficult customer situations.
• Foster relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers in order to provide best value to our customers.
• Be available during and after regular working hours to respond to customer and team member needs.
• Keep all necessary licenses and certifications active and in good standing.
• Knowledgeable of and able to apply current building, mechanical and energy code.
• Proactively engage in all aspects of company safety program.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND PROFICIENCIES:

• Minimum of five years’ experience in HVACR sales, survey, application, design and/or estimating.
• Possess a strong technical and working knowledge of commercial HVACR systems, wiring, and applications.
• Proficient in the use of computers. Programs include: Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word. Will become proficient in Timberline-Sage estimating software.
• Knowledgeable of and able to apply current building, mechanical and energy code.
• Enhanced customer service skills required. 
• Proven track record in HVACR sales.
• Continuous self-improvement and proactive mindset.
• Willing to work in both a team setting as well as individually. 
• Flexible, accommodating, and adaptable to constant change. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• May be required to drive for long periods of time during a regular workday.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Occasionally climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other climbing devices.
•  Ability to maintain focus while multi-tasking and continuously be aware of surroundings.
