Ambulatory Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled Ambulatory Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for a contract position. This role requires a dedicated nurse with extensive experience in ambulatory oncology settings and a strong background in chemotherapy administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care for oncology patients in an ambulatory setting.
• Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments, ensuring safety and accuracy.
• Perform dose calculations and mixing of chemotherapeutic agents, adhering to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and manage side effects associated with cancer treatments.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medication administration, and self-care practices.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current AHA BLS and Chemotherapy Certification required.
• Active, unencumbered RN license required.
• At least 2 years of staff RN experience in Ambulatory Oncology.
• Experience with inpatient chemotherapy administration and general ambulatory nursing.
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification is strongly desired but not required.

Compliance and Requirements

• All licenses and certifications must be valid at the time of application submission and throughout the duration of the contract.
• Compliance documentation must be completed no later than 10 days prior to the contract start date.
• Requested time off during the contract is limited to a maximum of 7 days, from Wednesday to Wednesday.
• Travel may be required within areas of equal or lesser acuity based on operational needs.

Additional Information

This position is for a contract duration of 16 weeks, with an AM shift from Monday to Friday. The nurse will work 32 to 36 hours per week, with no weekend or night shifts required. Join us in making a difference in the lives of patients undergoing cancer treatment.
