Travel Polysomnographer / Sleep Technologist - Polysomnography

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of experience and RPSGT certification.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a CPSGT or RPSGT
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• RPSGT certification via BRPT required
• RRT-SDS or CRT-SDS (Certified Sleep Disorders Specialist via NBRC) required
• License required if applicable
• Experience with NATUS SleepWorks and scoring required
• Must have 2-3 successful travel assignments with no canceled contracts on either party

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting within a Polysomnography Sleep Tech unit with 4 beds
• Patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1 depending on patient needs
• Patient population includes pulmonary, OSA, CSA, OHS, COPD, oxygen-dependent, cardiology, and REM behavior disorder patients
• Uses NATUS SleepWorks system and MPR home units for scoring
• RT equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and ASV
• Epic EMR used for charting
• 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM, 36 hours per week
• Weekends scheduled as needed
• No self-scheduling, though some flexibility in scheduling range is possible
• No call or standby requirements
• No floating requirements
• Responsibilities include monitoring and scoring sleep studies and titrating CPAP/BiPAP/ASV settings as needed
• No formal lab orientation provided beyond an introductory meeting to review experience, schedule, and department familiarization
• Required to attend one full-day hospital education session, complete one education module, and visit HR for badge issuance
• Navy blue scrub color required
• No holiday coverage requirements
• Local candidates accepted only outside a 50-mile radius for this facility
• Prior WVU Medicine employees must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
• Travelers may not work within WVU Medicine facilities for longer than one cumulative year without taking a 2-year break
