Job Summary Public Safety Officer (PSO) – campus security and safety support at UT Southwestern. Starting salary $20.00 per hour with shift differentials for nights and weekends. Respond to emergencies, provide first aid, and request medical services as needed. Support crime prevention and safety mission on campus. Process found property and write reports. Provide security escort services as required. Respond to alarms and assist in testing emergency notification devices. Maintain traffic and crowd control for special events. Lock and unlock campus buildings and work areas. Deliver customer service to the community on public safety related matters. Assist police and fire personnel as needed. Participate in ongoing job‑related training and development. Provide on‑the‑job training to co‑workers as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Education High School Diploma or equivalent (vocational school). Experience No experience required. Must pass a thorough background investigation, provide credible testimony in a court of law, and pass a negative drug screen. Licenses and Certifications Valid driver’s license and eligibility to drive a university-owned or leased motor vehicle. Security This is a security‑sensitive position subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, authorizing criminal history record checks.
