Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care to patients with complex medical oncology needs during night shifts. Assesses and manages critical conditions, ensuring safe administration of treatments and interventions.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver expert nursing care to oncology patients during 12-hour night shifts.
• Interpret cardiac arrhythmias accurately and respond to emergent situations promptly.
• Administer chemotherapy and monitor patients for side effects vigilantly.
• Manage advanced respiratory devices, including tracheostomies, chest tubes, Airvo, and BIPAP/CPAP therapies.
• Identify and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions, prioritizing critical interventions.
• Coordinate end-of-life care and hospice support with compassionate, patient-centered approaches.

Qualifications:

• Possess current ACLS certification.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills essential for complex multidisciplinary care.
• Have prior experience in medical oncology, preferably with step-down or transition units.
• Proficient in interpreting cardiac rhythms and managing respiratory therapy devices.
• Experienced in handling end-of-life scenarios and hospice care.
