Production Lead – Cosmetics Manufacturing

Position Title: Production Lead Industry: Cosmetics / Beauty Manufacturing Department: Production Reports To: Production Supervisor / Operations Manager

Job Summary

The Production Lead is responsible for overseeing daily production activities within a cosmetics manufacturing environment. This role ensures production goals are met while maintaining quality standards, safety compliance, and efficient workflow. The Production Lead provides direction to production staff and supports continuous improvement in processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise production team members on assigned shift
• Assign daily tasks and monitor workflow to meet production targets
• Oversee filling, labeling, batching, and packaging of cosmetic products
• Ensure products meet quality control standards and GMP requirements
• Track production output and report performance metrics
• Troubleshoot minor equipment and process issues
• Ensure materials and components are available for production runs
• Coordinate line changeovers and setup for different product runs
• Maintain cleanroom and sanitation standards
• Enforce safety policies and procedures
• Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching
• Communicate with QA, Warehouse, and Management teams

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of production experience in manufacturing (cosmetics preferred)
• 1+ year of leadership or lead experience
• Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
• Ability to work in fast-paced production environment
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Basic computer skills (production tracking systems, Excel)
• Ability to lift up to 35–50 lbs
• Flexible to work overtime if needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in cosmetics, skincare, or personal care manufacturing
• Knowledge of batching, compounding, or filling lines
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
