Associate Inventory Control Specialist
Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as an Associate Inventory Control Specialist. This role is essential in ensuring that medical supplies are efficiently received, stocked, and delivered to support patient care without interruption.
Job Summary
As an Associate Inventory Control Specialist, you will manage the receipt and distribution of central supply items, maintain inventory accuracy, and collaborate with various departments to meet supply needs. Your attention to detail, strong math skills, and excellent communication will be key to success.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process purchase orders, maintaining reliable sources for high-demand items.
- Deliver supplies to clinical areas, manage Periodic Automatic Replenishment (PAR) levels, and coordinate adjustments with departments.
- Conduct physical inventories and assist with cycle counts quarterly and annually.
- Lead inventory counts, manage supply recalls, and report discrepancies to management.
- Collaborate with purchasing staff on orders, PAR adjustments, and inventory projects.
- Anticipate supply needs and communicate potential shortages proactively.
- Assist customers with supply requests and maintain accurate tracking logs.
- Manage mail handling and office supply stock.
- Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Preferred: Two years of inventory experience, ideally in healthcare settings.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient with current technology, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to learn and use electronic medical records and inventory systems.
- Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication tailored to diverse audiences.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with medical supply chain terminology and procurement processes is a plus.
- Adaptable to the evolving demands of healthcare supply management.
Physical Requirements
This role involves frequent lifting and carrying of supplies weighing up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, bending, and occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens with appropriate precautions.
