Job Summary

As a Patient Access Specialist I, you will be responsible for accurately scheduling and registering patients, verifying insurance and benefits, and assisting with financial responsibilities such as co-payments and statement balances. Your professionalism and attention to detail will ensure a smooth and positive experience for every patient.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule and register patients using healthcare software, ensuring data accuracy including patient identification and insurance verification.
• Obtain necessary referrals and pre-authorizations for services.
• Conduct registration interviews prior to patient visits.
• Manage point-of-service collections and daily cash drawer operations.
• Handle multi-line phone systems to respond promptly and professionally to inquiries.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and provide support with dignity and respect.
• Complete administrative tasks such as mail processing and workflow improvement projects.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred.
• Healthcare experience is advantageous.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare revenue cycle is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is encouraged.

Physical Requirements
