Automatic Door TechnicianThis role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of automatic and manual door systems within a healthcare facility located in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. The technician will work under general supervision to ensure all door and locking mechanisms operate safely and efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to safety and infection control standards.Independently maintain and repair door hardware and locking systems, including troubleshooting electronic and keyed combo locks.Use hand tools, cutting tools, blueprints, and schematic diagrams to repair door frames and units.Cut various types of keys and perform re-keying tasks.Install, service, and repair automatic door opening and closing mechanisms, including electronic-eye operated systems.Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and organize technical manuals.Manage equipment inventory and order parts following facility policies.Coordinate with outside contractors and assist with daily shop operations.Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and maintain clean job sites.Perform other related maintenance duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum of two years' experience in a similar role, preferably within a healthcare environment.Experience with automatic doors, electronic locking systems, and related hardware.Proficient with hand and cutting tools, blueprints, and schematic diagrams.Strong troubleshooting skills for keyed and electronic locking systems.Familiarity with computer-based key tracking systems and diagnostic software.Knowledge of safety codes and standards related to door and locking systems.Excellent communication, coordination, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Ability to cut keys manually and perform minor carpentry tasks such as cutting holes for new locks.Capable of working independently and lifting up to 100 pounds.EducationHigh School Diploma or GED required.LicensesValid driver's license required.Locksmith registration with the state department preferred.All candidates must successfully pass a physical evaluation, drug screening, and background checks prior to employment.
