Lithuanian Interpreter, DOJ LSS - (1767) Location: National Capital Region (NCR) - Washington, DC 20540 US (Primary) Job Summary The Unconventional (TU) is seeking a qualified Interpreter to support the Department of Justice (DOJ) with translation, interpretation, transcription and other linguistic support services (LSS). The role involves translating documents, audiovisual content, providing court and deposition interpretation, etc. All materials are legal in nature and require strict confidentiality. Responsibilities Provide interpretation services within 3 hours of government request. Required Qualifications Specialized training in the interpreting field or extensive experience in court or legal environments, with ability to provide service within 3 hours of request. Minimum of 4 years of language interpretation experience in required mode. Qualifying scores ILR 3 minimum or equivalent language/translation test scores. Must have lived in the U.S. for 3 of the last 5 years. At least 1 year of experience working with a law enforcement or legal department. U.S. citizen. Knowledge of both English and foreign language vocabularies in formal, legal, diplomatic, consultative, and casual modes, including colloquial slang and regionalisms. Proficient in specialized terminology related to federal government missions. Fluent speech in English and foreign language, preserving tone and register. Interpret in a factually and conceptually accurate manner without modifications. Abide by relevant code of linguist ethics. Proficient in Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools, especially SDL Trados Studio.
