LOCATION A.R. Valentien Located in the AAA Five Diamond rated resort, The Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, A.R. Valentien is a fine dining restaurant known for its exceptional seasonal cuisine, elegant atmosphere, and superior service. Executive Chef Eric Sakai sources only the best local provisions for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Guests dine in a timbered indoor-outdoor dining room overlooking the 18th hole of Torrey Pines Golf Course. SUMMARY The Hostperson ("Recepcionista de Restaurante") welcomes our guests to the restaurant in a warm and enthusiastic fashion. Smiles and presents a professional appearance, manages reservations and works with other staff to meet guests' needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Creates a warm, gracious, and memorable first impression by welcoming guests with genuine hospitality and professionalism.
• Maintains awareness of all reservation details, guest preferences, VIP arrivals, and special occasions prior to guest arrival.
• Seats guests according to a pre-arranged seating plan and initiates light conversation while doing so.
• Hands menus to guests and takes drink order to expedite and improve service, as necessary.
• Manages the reservation book to ensure all reservations are honored for the correct time in order to enhance guest satisfaction as well as operational efficiency.
• Ensures appropriate menus are available for distribution (i.e. lunch, dinner etc.).
• Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 1 year of relevant experience and/or training.
• Previous similar position in a fine dining or upscale restaurant or hotel is preferred.
• Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
• Previous experience with OpenTable or a similar reservation system is preferred.
• Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire. Evans Hotels will provide this training and is to be completed at the company's expense.
• RBS Certification required.
• Ability to maintain a friendly, team-oriented, positive attitude and a professional appearance at all times.
• Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
• The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.
