Grants Manager

The Child Advocacy Center of Northeast MO

The mission of The Child Advocacy Center of Northeast Missouri is to deliver excellence in child abuse response, offer a path towards healing, and educate the community. We provide expert forensic interviews, child and family advocacy, and therapy services for children and families when they need it most. We also present school and community‑based prevention programs to educate children about appropriate boundaries and empower victims to disclose abuse to safe adults. Position Description The Grants Manager contributes to the mission of The Child Advocacy Center of Northeast Missouri by securing, managing, and evaluating a comprehensive grant program, including efforts to meet annual operating budgets, supporting program expansion opportunities, forecasting grant performance, overseeing grant compliance and managing internal and external relationships. The Grants Manager works closely with the program staff to gather information needed for applications and reports. The Grants Manager will provide guidance, supervision and oversight for the Assistant Grant Writer. This position is primarily remote but requires periodic travel to the Wentzville office monthly and other business locations as needed. A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel independently are required. Primary Responsibilities Create and implement a grant‑writing plan that supports the agency by researching grant opportunities that match the agency’s funding needs. Work closely with program staff to develop and transform ideas into grant proposals and gather information, data, and outcomes for monthly reports. Work closely with Director of Finance and the Accounting Manager to complete budgets for grant proposals and reports. Research, recommend, and oversee a grant tracking system that keeps track of applications, awards, reporting deadlines, billing, and compliance requirements. Oversee the compilation of statistics, informational data and reports annually and as needed. Analyze and forecast the performance of the grant program and provide reports. Manage current and build new relationships with grant funders and external agencies. Manage post‑award compliance including evaluation and assessment of program goals, the collection of data, and all reports. Maintain organized grant files and supporting documentation, improve and innovate program processes and policies. Represent the agency in all communications with grant funders, ensuring timely coordination of meetings, responses, data needs, and required reports. Coordinate collection of program documentation for funder audits and site visits, managing correspondence and resolutions with auditors, and reviewing audit adjustment/findings with the Director of Finance, Executive Director and related program directors. Supervise and oversee Assistant Grant Writer. Represent the agency at community, professional, and media events as necessary. Communicate regularly to the Director of Finance and Executive Director all essential grant information. Perform other duties and special assignments as assigned by the Director of Finance. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Social Work, Communications, or a related field. At least five years of experience in grant writing and grant management. Experience with children's services or nonprofit organizations is preferred. Experience researching grant opportunities and managing grants from application through final reporting. Experience working with grant budgets and coordinating with Finance staff. Experience using or managing a grant tracking system is preferred. Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel. Comfortable working with data, creating reports, and analyzing grant performance. Strong writing, organization, and time management skills. Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines at the same time. Able to work independently while also working well with staff across the organization.
