Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Oncology Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 17 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Unit: Oncology RN (Med/Surg Oncology – Inpatient) Provide care on a 29-bed oncology unit, managing patients with acute oncology conditions and medical overflow. Common cases include neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, sickle cell crisis, hematology, and end-of-life care. Requirements: BLS; 2 years oncology experience; no first-time travelers. Preferred: NIHSS; ONS certification (required if administering chemo). Ratios: 1:5 (occasionally 1:6); support from CNAs (~3 per shift). Skills: Oncology care, symptom management, chemo support, and general Med/Surg care. Schedule: 12-hour shifts (6:45–7:15); every other weekend; holidays rotate. Details: Meditech charting; central telemetry (no strip reading required); rare floating; Caribbean blue scrubs; ~3-day orientation; fast-paced oncology unit requiring strong clinical judgment and compassion.
