Key Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care & Clinical Support

• Patient Intake & Vitals: Greet Katy-area patients warmly; record vital signs, chief complaints, medical history, allergies, and current medications.
• Medication Reconciliation: Perform thorough medication reviews and accurately update patient records in the EMR.
• Procedure Assistance: Prepare examination and procedure rooms; assist providers during interventional pain management procedures as directed.
• Pre/Post-Care Guidance: Support patients before and after procedures, monitor recovery status, and deliver clear follow-up care instructions.
• Patient Communication: Explain medication schedules, post-procedure instructions, and follow-up plans clearly to patients and their families.

Cross-Trained Front Office & Care Coordination

• Front Office Support: Assist with patient check-in/check-out, answering inbound calls, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance coverage when needed.
• EMR Documentation: Accurately log all clinical encounters, notes, and vital statistics into the EMR system.
• Authorizations & Referrals: Assist with insurance prior authorizations, referral processing, prescription requests, and daily outreach to local Katy-area pharmacies, labs, and imaging facilities.
• Records Management: Obtain required medical records and diagnostic imaging reports prior to patient appointments.
• Phone Triage & Compliance: Respond to patient calls, route clinical concerns to providers promptly, and strictly adhere to HIPAA privacy standards.

What We’re Looking For

• Clinical Preparation: Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CMA/RMA preferred).
• Cross-Trained Versatility: Ability and willingness to cross-train between back-office clinical patient care and front-office administrative support.
• Specialty Experience: Previous background in pain management or another fast-paced outpatient specialty clinic is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems, medication reconciliation, and clear clinical documentation.
• Community Focus: A caring, empathetic approach toward helping patients dealing with acute and chronic pain.
• Reliability: Strong organizational ability, attention to detail, and efficient multitasking in an active clinical setting.
