Position Summary As the PRE-OP PACU RN, you will plan and coordinate nursing care for pre‑op and post‑surgical patients, monitoring vital signs, managing pain and nausea, and ensuring consistent and quality patient care. Shift Details Sign‑On Incentive: $10,000 available. Employment Type: Full‑time Hours per week: 36 Shift start times: 05:30, 08:00, 09:00 Schedule: Variable Monday‑Friday On‑call requirements: weekend and holiday rotations Night shift differential: 18% Weekend shift differential: $3 per hour New Graduate Nurses (less than 12 months of experience) welcome Core Functions Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs. Review history, diagnostic data, and laboratory results; report abnormal findings to physicians; ensure timely completion of assessments. Formulate and update individualized care plans, including discharge plans, based on assessment data and healthcare team input. Set realistic, measurable goals and revise plans as patient needs change. Implement care plans through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the health care team. Document orders accurately and communicate patient status to other caregivers. Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching; revise plans accordingly. Assess progress toward goals and outcomes. Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record, ensuring legibility, timeliness, and policy compliance. Provide evidence‑based care; participate in research, shared leadership, and education activities. Mentor and precept staff when appropriate. Contribute to quality improvement activities and professional organizations to advance patient outcomes. Supervise staff and workflow when required. Interact with all staff levels, physicians, patients, families, external contacts, and clergy to provide comprehensive support. Minimum Qualifications Valid RN license in the state of practice (including temporary/interim or compact licensure). BLS certification. Clinical experience in the specialty area of application. Minimum one year of acute‑care experience in the past 12 months for registry and travel positions. Finger‑print clearance card as required for specific Banner locations. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree. Professional nursing certification. Additional related education or experience.
