Maintenance Technician - Manufacturing EquipmentWe're hiring an Industrial Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and improve high-speed production equipment in a food packaging environment. This role is ideal for an experienced technician with strong electrical and mechanical skills, including PLCs, control systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and preventive maintenance while helping us maintain high standards for GMP, SQF, sanitation, and food packaging safety. Preference for 3rd shift candidates. CompensationPay rate: $29.00 - $31.00. Team Members working the Night Shift will qualify for an additional .75 cents per hour shift differential.Work ScheduleTraining for this role is expected to take approximately 3 to 6 months on first shift. Regular schedule is Sunday through Thursday 11:00pm to 7:00amWhy Placon - You'll Love it HereHands-on role supporting critical production equipment and facility operationsOpportunity to troubleshoot, repair, and improve a wide range of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systemsExposure to equipment upgrades, machine modifications, and capital projectsA safety-focused environment with strong quality and food packaging standardsWhat You'll DoPerform electrical, electronic, and mechanical maintenance on production and auxiliary equipmentTroubleshoot breakdowns and repair equipment to restore safe, effective operationComplete corrective and preventive maintenance work orders on scheduleSupport machine modifications, equipment upgrades, and capital improvement projectsAssist with the development of preventive maintenance programs for new and rebuilt equipmentHelp integrate electrical control systems for new or rebuilt machinery and process improvementsMaintain compliance with GMP, SQF, OSHA, National Electric Code, NFPA, and company safety standardsWork professionally with team members to resolve issues and support continuous improvementWhat You BringAssociate degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology, Industrial Electronics, or a related field and 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience, or 6+ years of progressively responsible industrial maintenance experienceAbility to safely use hand tools and electronic test equipmentAbility to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC ladder logic programsKnowledge of PLCs, digital and analog servo systems, and electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systemsComputer skills, including Microsoft Office and using computers for machine control testingExperience with soldering, ARC welding, and MIG welding is preferredStrong communication skills, ability to work with minimal supervision, and a safety-first mindset including LOTO and PPE practicesAbility to read, write, and communicate in English and operate motorized vehicles such as forklifts and elevated platformsDoes this sound like you?If you're a hands-on problem solver with strong industrial maintenance experience and a commitment to safety, we'd love to hear from you.
