Clinical Associate Physician- Nocturnist- Los Alamitos

Nocturnist Physician

The Nocturnist Physician provides Hospital Medicine services for the UCI Health - Los Alamitos Hospital inpatient medicine wards exclusively during overnight hours, with core responsibilities, including supervision of APP staff, centered on after-hours admissions from the ED, cross-coverage of admitted patients, managing acute changes in condition, and patient stabilization. Procedures are not required of the medicine nocturnist. The role requires timely handoff of all overnight events and pending clinical issues to the incoming day Hospitalist team. Qualified candidates must hold an M.D./D.O./ MBBS or equivalent degree, with an unrestricted California state medical license, and board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with relevant clinical experience within two years of hire.

Qualifications

Required:

• Candidates must possess an M.D./D.O./ MBBS or equivalent degree
• Possession of or eligibility to obtain an unrestricted CA Medical License
• ABIM Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Demonstrated experience in quality improvement to improve patient outcomes.
• Leadership skills; ability to motivate, inspire, communicate with faculty, residents, staff, and peers to maintain a professional, team-based approach in the care of patients.
• Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and objectives while in compliance of all UC policies and procedures. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all state and federal privacy laws.
• Current DEA
• Current ACLS
• Experienced in providing and/or oversight of care.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of UCI P&P

Benefits eligible base salary compensation based on MGMA benchmarks for a Clinical Associate within this specialty is $332,000 - $386,615. In addition, candidates have the potential to earn incentives on top of their base salary contingent on performance and experience.
