Accounting Supervisor

The Accounting Supervisor reports to the Director of Finance and is responsible for supervising the routine accounting, purchasing, and payroll operations of the district's business office under the direction of the Director of Finance.

The following duties are illustrative and not exhaustive:

• Oversee Payroll functions, processes and employees
• Oversee Accounts Payable functions, processes and employees
• Oversee Accounts Receivable functions and processes
• Develops, maintains, and executes procedures for purchasing; and oversees district compliance; including purchasing card guidelines, account openings, and limits
• Coordinate and prepare annual audit schedules
• Reconcile monthly insurance bills and prepare/approve for payment
• Collaborate with Human Resources on payroll deduction/accounts of employee benefits
• Collaborate with Curriculum Department to oversee and enforce fiscal adherence for State and Federal grant expenditures
• Serve as back up for bank deposits to ensure proper checks and balances
• Serve as backup for receipting incoming checks/counting and receipting all monies coming in
• Invoicing for DCTC, unemployment, retiree billing, and others
• Complete interfund transfers/banking
• Update salaries annually with Sun Life & MESSA
• Develops, maintains procedures for, and executes journal entries
• Exhibit a positive demeanor and support a positive work environment
• Maintain consistent attendance and report to work on time as expected
• Complete assigned tasks, reports, and other requirements on time
• Attend all meetings and professional development required for this position
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift, carry, and transport heavy items
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time in a work day, and to sit/stand several times in short periods of time
