Event Coordinator - Fluno Center

Event CoordinatorJoin the UW Conferences & Events team at the Fluno Center. The Fluno Center, a full-service event destination and conference center located on the University of Wisconsin Campus in downtown Madison, is seeking an event coordinator. In this role you will consult with customers to determine their event details including food menus, audio visual services, room layouts and set up. You'll work with department heads to fulfill event requirements and ensure execution. The successful person in this role has the desire to become an expert user of complex event software, is a good listener, detail oriented, and is willing to be proactive. Our event team is committed to providing a first-class experience for our customers and guests with every experience, every detail, and every day.Work Schedule and LocationMonday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with the occasional night or weekend to support an event100% on-siteKey Job Responsibilities:Schedules logistics and secures resources for all aspects of events including space, vendors, and staff; and coordinates details and resolves operational issuesCommunicates with customers to determine event details and requirements, evaluates requests, recommends service plans and pricing, and provides status updatesAssists with planning and the creation of promotional materials and resources for eventsGreets customers/guests, assists with registration, answers questions, and refers complex issues to appropriate entitiesMonitors and processes event related transactions and event data and recordsCompensation:The expected starting salary is $23.50/hourThis position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including generous paid time off, competitively priced health/dental/vision/life insurance, tax-advantaged savings accounts, and participation in the nationally recognized Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) pension fund. For a summary of benefits, please see. Qualifications:A minimum of one year of professional experience in event coordination and/or event planning.
