Senior Property Accountant

Our clients growing real estate organization is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join the accounting team in Chicago. This role is responsible for managing the financial operations of a portfolio of properties, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. Key Responsibilities: Oversee property-level accounting, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and month-end close. Prepare and review financial statements for assigned properties in accordance with GAAP. Perform bank reconciliations, variance analysis, and cash flow reporting. Work with accounts payable and receivable processes for property operations. Collaborate with property managers and asset management teams to support budgeting and forecasting. Utilize Yardi software for property accounting and reporting. Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required). 3+ years of property accounting experience (required). Strong understanding of GAAP and property-level financial reporting.
