This company develops and manages cutting-edge residential communities across the U.S. and is known for its innovative, people-first culture. As a Senior Property Accountant, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate and insightful financial reporting for a diverse portfolio of operational properties. You’ll collaborate closely with operations, support investor reporting, assist in audits, and help lead process improvements. What You’ll Do Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements in accordance with GAAP Analyze general ledger activity and investigate budget variances Partner with operations to ensure timely and accurate reporting for each property Support lender and investor reporting, including financial packages and debt covenant calculations Review and reconcile bank accounts, fixed assets, and journal entries Assist in onboarding newly acquired properties and preparing acquisition entries Coordinate with auditors and respond to financial inquiries Calculate ownership distributions and support cash flow analysis Lead and support accounting policy training across departments Assist with annual budgets and provide ad hoc reporting as needed What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 4+ years of relevant experience, ideally in property or real estate accounting Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., Entrata, Yardi, Sage preferred) Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude Nice to Have Previous exposure to accounting systems such as Entrata, Yardi, or Sage This is a hybrid position based in Chicago , offering the chance to work in a mission-driven, fast-paced environment with a collaborative and entrepreneurial team.
