Software Engineer - Freelance

Freelance Engineer OpportunityOur technical team, composed of more than 90 engineers from top schools, is dedicated to designing, developing, and evolving custom digital products: web/mobile applications, business platforms, AI solutions. In a context of strong growth (+50% per year since its creation), Galadrim is strengthening its pool of freelancers to support its clients on varied projects. Your role involves joining our freelance pool to be regularly offered missions tailored to your profile. The missions last on average 4 months, mostly full-time (5 days/5). You will work autonomously, integrated into a project team (engineers, PM, designer), in direct contact with the client, with a high level of responsibility. Specifically, you will:Develop functionalities by building quality, maintainable, and scalable codeUnderstand the business challenges of our clients and challenge them to build the most relevant solutionsParticipate in technical choices and architectural reflections to design custom and scalable productsCollaborate closely with Product Managers, designers, and other developers to deliver value quicklyIntervene in ambitious projects, adapting to each codebase's standards and contributing to their continuous improvementUse AI daily (code generation, debugging, task automation, technical exploration) to accelerate developments and improve product qualityEnsure code quality through good engineering practices: code reviews, automated tests, refactoring, and continuous improvementExamples of projects include:Working with the CEA (Commissariat à l'Énergie Atomique), one of France's leading scientific research organizations, to improve an open-source data annotation tool for AI model training. The project addressed multi-modal data visualization challenges (2D, 3D, time series).Modernizing and replacing the FFTir (Fédération Française de Tir) internal administration tool, THOT, a platform centralizing the management of their organizational structure and sports references. The application handles significant volumes of personal data (licensees, coordinates, sports careers), with security and compliance at the heart of the project.Supporting Project X Paris, a French fashion brand, in developing and evolving a comprehensive application ecosystem since 2018, focusing on web checkout, internal tools, B2B flows, and logistics. The project included decisions to centralize in a monorepo, rationalize application components, migrate to AWS, and enhance quality through continuous co-construction with client teams.Our technologies include:AI tools: Claude Code, Codex, CursorBackend & infra: Node.js (Adonis, Nest.js), PostgreSQL, AWSFrontend: JavaScript / TypeScript, React, React NativeThe proposed missions are open to full remote but you can also come to one of our offices (Paris, Nantes, or Lyon) if you wish.
