Physical Therapist (PT)

MECA Therapies LLC is looking for a Physical Therapist (PT) to join our professional team. MECA Therapies is the largest pediatric rehabilitation provider in the state of New Mexico. Our mission is to strive every day towards ensuring that our families and their children have access to the highest quality of care in the communities we serve. The Physical Therapist provides services to include evaluation and treatment to individuals ages 3-21 based on diagnosed conditions. These services will be conducted within MECA Therapies Children’s Outpatient Clinic QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND LICENSURE: Doctorate in Physical Therapy or other previously approved degree level. Licensure from The NM Physical Therapy Licensing Board GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge and experience in the field of Physical Therapy Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Windows Proficient organizational and record keeping skills Effective oral and written communication Excellent interpersonal and teaming skills Ability to train clients, family members and professionals Exercise a high level of confidentiality ESSENTIAL DUTIES The PT will operate within Local, State and Federal Regulations as well as adhere to all MECA policies and procedures. Essential duties include but are not limited to: Administering standardized assessment tests within their professional scope of practice Developing appropriate and thorough recommendations Presenting diagnostic findings completely and accurately Writing evaluation reports with technical accuracy Seeking out appropriate information from medical and/or other resources as needed to implement treatment strategies Developing theoretically sound plans describing objectives and procedures for treatment Selecting appropriate stimulus materials and treatment modalities for age and ability of the client Giving clear concise instructions in presenting materials and/or techniques in therapy Recording and tracking daily progress accurately Utilizing time in session efficiently to meet objectives Providing accurate and immediate feedback to the person served and/or family Planning for discharge of the person served Participating in the interview process for prospective employees as deemed necessary Maintaining a clean work area on a daily basis. Surface areas of tables, instructional tools and other objects should be cleaned after each session. Mentoring students and entry level personnel as deemed necessary by the company. Mentoring therapists in regional clinics May be asked to participate in marketing and outreach events within the community promoting MECA Therapies and the Children’s Outpatient Clinic CASELOAD ASSIGNMENTS The PT will be assigned a weekly caseload from the respective program director for each program they serve 1. PT’s will be considered full-time with 8 hours per day or the equivalent of 40 hours per work week, equating to 40 visits per week or part time equivalent. 2. Adjustments to caseloads/clinic hours are made in collaboration with the respective program director. a. Caseload adjustments in regard to clients and direct client contact hours may be adjusted for individuals providing supervision for students or other therapists 3. PTs may be asked to complete CMEs through the FIT program as caseloads permit. a. PTs must be IDA certified. PRODUCTIVITY Productivity for clinic therapists will be directly tied to the following: Completing 1920 visits per year or part time equivalent DOCUMENTATION The PT will accurately collect data on persons served and will ensure that the information is accurate and filed in a timely manner by adhering to the following: Documenting therapy sessions and progress Children’s Outpatient Clinic therapists are required to complete the SOAP note within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment Any therapist needing additional time beyond their regularly scheduled time must contact the Clinic Director for approval Responding and completing tasks/messages received via Central Reach the day they are received Complete progress notes and upload as needed in Central Reach by the designated dates Completing clinic evaluations in the allotted time given within the therapist’s schedule (typically within the same day or within 24 hours).Any therapist needing additional time beyond their regularly scheduled time must contact the Clinic Director for approval. STAFF DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING The PT must comply with all mandatory trainings identified by their licensing board as well as trainings mandated by their respective supervisor(s) and/or company by adhering to the following: Consulting and providing in-house trainings to other staff members Maintaining appropriate licensure through the NM licensing board Attending mandatory staff meetings and trainings SUPERVISION Certified PT’s with experience may be asked to provide supervision for PTA’s. Supervision will be provided according to the supervision guide from the PT licensing board. No more than 3 full time PTA’s and / or Students or Observers, Technicians may be supervised at one time.
