The Role

• Manage a caseload of insurance defense litigation matters including general liability, premises and products cases
• Handle all phases of litigation from initial evaluation and pleadings through discovery, motion practice and trial preparation
• Draft pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, coverage related memoranda and reports to insurers and insureds
• Take and defend depositions, appear in court, argue motions and participate in mediations and settlement conferences
• Collaborate directly with partners and clients on strategy, case evaluation, risk assessment and file management

Ideal Candidate Profile

The firm is seeking a mid level Insurance Defense Associate with:

• 3 to 8 years of insurance defense litigation experience with active courtroom exposure
• Background in general liability, premises, product liability or related defense side work
• Bar admission in California and ability to practice in state courts
• No minimum law school ranking requirement beyond a strong record of practical performance
• Fully Remote

Compensation & Benefits

• $160,000 to $200,000 base salary depending on experience
• Semi annual tiered bonus structure from 1,950 hours plus discretionary year end bonus
