Lead Technologist, CT

Overview: Lead CT Tech Location: Bloomingdale, Glen Ellyn,Schaumburg Hours: Hours: Varied; Rotating Weekends. Evenings/Holiday and travel as needed. Responsibilities: Provides oversight for the CT department and performs routine to complex diagnostic technical procedures in the CT department under the direction of a physician. Ensures image quality, excellence in patient care and uninterrupted work flow. Maintains technical aspects of radiation safety Develop and maintain CT protocols and communicate with radiologists for standardization Ensure ACR accreditation on all scanners Respond to PeerVue audits of CT exams for Quality Improvement Analysis Assist with development as needed for new protocols and procedures within the CT department Assist in development of standards for radiation safety to patients and the public to assure safety and awareness Maintain awareness of current issues in radiation safety for staff and patients. Assure that protocols meet existing standards regarding radiation safety standards. Educate CT staff and others regarding new quality initiatives within the Radiology department Monitor patient documentation for timely completion and accuracy Oversee quality control testing, equipment maintenance and trouble shooting Assure Phantom QA scans are run and accurately recorded in log book Recommend new equipment, equipment modification Serve as a resource to department staff as well as other members of DuPage Medical Group as needed Participate in on-going service and process improvement efforts Schedule work assignments Perform staff orientation, training, and coaching Provide input to staff performance evaluations Initiative is demonstrated to proactively diagnose and resolve problems Change is met with positive, supportive behavior Performs duties of CT Technologist Supervises work performed by department and may delegate work to staff members. Counsels and coaches the team by guiding, directing, motivating, and mediating conflict resolution. Assists with staff development, new employee orientation, and training. Monitors and ensures staff compliance with policies and procedures. May be responsible for performance evaluations as required by Human Resources. Responsible for managing the schedule, time keeping, and payroll if necessary. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited education program in radiology technology required. ARRT Registered Technologist, RT(CT) Maintain IEMA license BLS – Basic Life Support, AED Adult & Pediatric CPR required. Experience: Three (3) five (5) years related experience in the field of CT with at least 1 year of team leader or supervisory experience Experienced in staff role and history of good performance Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Familiar with a variety of the CT modality’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Performs a variety of tasks Leads and directs the work of others A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected Positive, professional demeanor is projected through verbal and non-verbal communications Information for patients and staff is delivered in a manner that is supportive, timely and understandable Interpersonal conflicts are resolved using appropriate methods and organizational resources Diverse perspectives are acknowledged; language and behaviors are modeled that build inclusiveness in the work environment Ideas and suggestions are clearly communicated Clarification of communication is requested when appropriate Typically reports to a manager or director. Must be able to get along with others, be a team player, accept feedback from others and be able to follow work rules. The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $35.25-$52.90, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity.
