About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:30 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in hospital setting License: VA License/Compact required Certifications: BLS and ACLS required Must-Have: - 2 years recent PCU experience - Current BLS & ACLS - NIHSS - IV infusions of Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Milrinone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Lasix IVP - Labetalol and Metoprolol Description: This position requires candidates to have a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a hospital setting. Candidates must have a valid VA License or Compact at the time of application. BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory. Candidates must be flexible and adaptable to changes in patient assignments and schedules. The work environment is dynamic, requiring the ability to adjust to varying patient care needs. A typical patient care team includes RNs, PCTs, a Charge Nurse, and a Clinical Coordinator. Patient ratios are acuity-based, typically 1:1, 1:2, and occasionally 1:3. Equipment used may include telemetry, IV pumps, and specialized patient beds. Experience with EMR systems is preferred. Candidates willing to work extra shifts are preferred. The unit performs procedures such as Mid Line and PICC Line placements. Flexibility in working weekend shifts is required, with a minimum of 4 weekend shifts over a 4-week schedule. Floating to other units may be required based on patient care needs.
